“When I first walked out on the field I had a couple butterflies, but after the first round, I started to feel comfortable at the plate. I think seeing the crowd’s reactions after my hits in the first round just made me feel good, and I became more confident. Towards the end of the rounds, I felt more excited than nervous and that only made me hit better.

The Emmons were definitely a motivation to me, especially because no one at ODA has won the Homerun Derby in the past three years. I’m just proud to say I’m the first.”
