The ODA Women’s Varsity Volleyball team fought tirelessly to end of the match against the Cardinal Mooney Cougars.
On Wednesday night the Thunderheads, an ODA student spirit club, along with other Out-of-Door fans, traveled to Cardinal Mooney to watch the rivalry game.
Jordan Bruder, a junior Thunderhead and JV volleyball player, said “We had a lot of fun watching the game go back and forth and returning a cheer every time the cougar fans would chant.”
The ODA vs Mooney rivalry has been in existence for quite some time. The rivalry between fans has been a prominent part of it. The student cougar fans call themselves the “Cougar Crazies”. During the match on Wednesday, the Cougar Crazies and Thunderheads cheered for their teams trying to “out cheer” each other.
Senior player, Reanna Gregory said, “We didn’t play well in the first game and we lost 11-25. We did better in the second game only losing by 2, and then won the third game 31-29.”
“The girls played well and I hope we can be them the next time we play them,” said senior spectator, Katie Lang.
The Lady Thunder fell to the Cougars in the last game, losing the match 3-1.
ODA hopes to defeat the Cougars Tuesday, October 7th, at 7:00pm in the Thunderdome, so be sure to come out and support!
