The Swim Team Strikes Again
September 10, 2012
The Out-of-Door swim team faced a dual meet on September 6th. They swam against Keswick and Canterbury schools, both out of St. Pete. The women beat Keswick and lost to Canterbury. The boys took victory against both schools. This win was very exiting for the swim team because they have never beaten Canterbury before.
The swimmers also broke many records and sixteen of them beat their personal best times–impressive because of how early it is in the season. Andrew Romano beat the school record in the 200 individual medley. He also won another medley and a 100 butterfly against Keswick. Joesph Plechy won the 50 and 300 free against both Keswick and Canterbury. Sixth grader Sarsen Whatmare won the 100 back stoke. The men’s team won the 200 and 400 freestyle relay. To finish off the swim meet Claire Cornetet gave the women a victory in the 50 free. The swim team is out to a great a start for the year and is continuing to set records.
