Student Council News
- Join your student council reps for tailgate shenanigans at the bridge that leads to Thunder Stadium. Fun will start after school and lead up to the Thunder kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Free Food!
- Student Council elections TODAY in advisories. Great speeches and competition this year. Good luck, everyone!
- Student Council’s next event will be its annual Dodgeball night. This year: a special twist. Dodgeball will be held at Jump and Fun, a massive bouncing platform, for added challenge and zany action. Don’t miss it. Saturday September 28th, 8-10 pm.
Clubs
- Invisible Children will be hosting its first membership meeting. All interested students are encouraged to attend our meeting on Tuesday in the conference room in the Commons–NOT the one in the library. New members will hear about upcoming responsibilities and be invited to connect with the club via ODA Invisible Children’s facebook page and fundraising pages.
- GSA (Gay/Straight Alliance), a group that works to support the rights of all people will hold its first meeting today at lunch in Ms. Fafalio’s room. They are also pleased to announce their first event will be Wednesday at lunch in room 1003. Come hear anti-bullying activist, Kye Allums, talk about the issue of bullying.
Service Opportunities
- Concession Stand help is needed for Football and Volleyball games. Please log into Seholo to sign up! This is an easy and fun way to earn some on-campus service hours while helping your school.
Athletics
- Golf lost its first match, but will have another match on Wednesday.
- Volleyball killed, slammed, and passed their way to victory against Southeast in a 3:0 shut out in the Thunderdome on Thursday night. Don’t miss the action next week when they take on Cardinal Mooney at Mooney. Go support the team and be amazed at the athleticism and finesse of our Lady Thunder Volleyball team.
- Sailing Team. Interested? See Mr. LeBras.
- Friday’s football game against Bradenton Christian will be a “white out.” Wear white! Don’t know what a “white out” is? Google it. So cool.
- Cross Country has its first meet at 8:00 a.m. at Lemon Bay. Good luck, runners!
