As Mid-Winter break approaches, some of your friends may be leaving to go on exciting vacations. Maybe they are going skiing up North or going to visit family. While they may be planning on traveling and leaving the area, you are stuck at home walking your dog or reading your favorite book for the 6th time.
One of the things you may do to prevent yourself from becoming bored is explore the near infinite portal that is the Internet. Here are some time-killing websites that might just distract you from the four walls that surround you all the time.
ifunny.com: ifunny has it in the name. It’s a website where people can upload and share funny pictures, gifs, and videos. You can either go to the website or download the app to your smartphone. Simply scroll or swipe to see another funny picture and because the people are the ones mostly uploading the content, there is new stuff being uploaded a lot. Fair Warning: This is the Internet and knuckleheads will be knuckleheads!
BuzzFeed.com: Buzzfeed is a pop culture website that tells the news in an entertaining way. The website sometimes has small surveys to fill out to help answer questions I know you’ve always had like what Disney princess you would be. BuzzFeed also makes videos and uploads galleries for your entertainment. Apparently, I am Jasmine!
StumbleUpon.com: StumbleUpon is there to help you when your looking for something interesting to read, watch, learn etc. When you first make an account on the website, you are prompted to enter your interests and once you have done this you can begin to browse what the website has to offer for you under those subjects. StumbleUpon will sometimes direct you to other websites that may interest you. One of the coolest things that I found was a website full of beautiful pictures of travel locations around the world such as a beautiful Niagara Falls.
ViralNova.com: ViralNova is a website that takes the best articles and stories being shared on the internet and displays them on the website to help supply the reader with what’s being shared on the internet right now. I recently saw a video of a train bursting through a wall of snow. That was too cool!
CoolestGizmo.com: CoolestGizmo is a great website that highlights the coolest gadgets, toys, cameras etc. If you like cool gadgets such as RC helicopters, GO-Pros and such then you may really want to visit this website. Some of the RC helicopters with built-in cameras. How awesome would it be to see your neighborhood from a new perspective?
