And the award for MVP goes too…

This scene was set for last Saturday at the ODA Sports Banquet. At the event, ODA athletes applauded the accomplishments of individuals and teams from this passing school year. ODA Athletic Director, Coach Timmons, led the event by honoring student athletes with praise for their accomplishments this year.

Some of the honorary mentions were Maria Ross and Mary Ann Rompf for winning doubles at this year’s state competition in tennis. Timmons also took time to honor multiple seniors who are going on to play college sports.

“I’m really excited for the college life and looking forward to get to play the game I love,” said graduating senior, Drew Fineburg who is going to play football at Hobart and Williams Smith College.

In another highlight of the banquet, outstanding male and female athletes were honored with a special award. This years’ recipiants were juniors Tre Gregory and Madison Shaw.

“I was surprised, but I’m really honored with that award. I’m just really happy with my goals I achieved this year,” says Tre Gregory.

Other athletes were honored for their performance on ODA teams.

“It was pretty cool although it was kind of awkward walking up to the stage,” offers junior Carson Jungers, a baseball player.

As the school year comes to a close, consider how athletics can contribute to your ODA experience. The awards banquet offers plenty of time for athletes to reflect upon the many rewards of being part of team.

Thanks for great year, Thunder athletes. We look forward to another strong year.
