Have you ever found yourself cooped up in your room for nine hours straight watching Netflix? If you have, not to worry, you are not alone. You are one of the many students who are consumed by what is now popularly known as a Netflix addiction.

The  binging on Netflix phenomenon seems to be quite popular among teenage students. Once a TV series is started, students can’t seem to get enough. The trending TV shows are Gossip Girl, New Girl, Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Grey’s Anatomy, and Dexter, and One Tree Hill.

“Gossip Girl is my favorite show I’m so addicted its not even funny. I don’t know what would my life be without Netflix,” says Claudia Spivak, a freshman.

“It’s ruined my loved life. I swear I no longer have interactions with other people,” says junior, Jordan Towsley.

Reanna Gregory says she watches something on Netflix “every night.”

Natalie Buffett says, “I watched Netflix for seven hours last night. I’m not even kidding. I just finished Dexter and I don’t know what to do.”

“I’m on my second round of Gossip Girl. It’s honestly becoming a problem, ” confides sophomore, Joie Eckard.

“One day I literally didn’t come out of my room for nine hours. I even ate in my room. I’ve finished all nine seasons of One Tree Hill,” says 8th grader, Abby Lagasse.

“I just finished Dexter the other night, and it was honestly really sad. I don’t know what I’m going to do now that I finished it,” says junior, Taylor Albano.

“I think that it’s a good escape from our daily stress of school,” says Olivia White.
