The Out-of-Door Academy is helping give to the community of Sarasota for the holidays. The way they are doing so is by setting up a Toys for Tots program at school. Students and teachers have been asked to give packaged toys appropriate for any aged child, male or female. All the toys collected should be brought to Mrs Frye’s room where they will be picked up by the end of next week.
The program was originally created by the US Marines but has evolved to include many different organizations all striving for the same goal, making children happy.
Kevin Moody, ‘13, is the man who is in charge of setting up the pick up station at our school. The way the system works is rather simple. The toys that are given will in turn be given to the kids that couldn’t afford such toys themselves.
Imagine how great it would feel to help guarantee that other kids will have something to open for Christmas. It’s not too late to give. Presents will be collected through December 21st, Friday of exam week.
