Students Bond at Senior Retreat

Stephani Spindel, Editor

Every year the seniors go to the DaySpring Conference Center, a 92-acre campus featuring tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, as well as kayaking and the senior favorite, the ropes course. Senior Retreat is an ODA tradition that has been held every year for over 10 years.

When I asked Ms. Evans what her favorite part of senior retreat was she said,”I really love the evening festivities when kids are just really relaxed and enjoying each others company everything is sort of removed and everyone is just laughing and hanging out and ‘letting down their hair’ if you will. It’s nice to see that. Especially because that time of year students are generally stressed out, so it’s good to see them relaxing and having fun!”

After the retreat, Mr. Lemieux and Mrs. Gaffney thanked the students for behaving, saying that this year’s retreat went exceptionally well. And to the curious underclassmen out there: Keep in mind, what happens at retreat, stays at retreat.
