With the start of a new season, the ODA men’s soccer team has a strong returning core. Coach Leicht is taking on the head coaching job with the help of Mr. Salmon. With the loss of multiple seniors last year, the team has new leadership and experience emerging.

Tait Lystad, a senior on the team, said, “we are a young team this year, but we also have some returning guys which helps with varsity experience. I like the way we’re set up and I think we will do alright.”

Carson Jungers who took last season off due knee pain and baseball joins the team. “It feels good to be back out there. I felt bad last year not being to contribute to the team but I’m here now and I going to make a difference.”

Mark Sulimurski, also a junior on the team, is returning after taking last two years off due to rowing for Sarasota Crew. His participation will again some real skill to the team.

“I missed not being able to play last year but I’m just happy to be back playing with the team,” reflects Sulimirski.

Coach Leicht said that he is ready for the season to begin and is looking forward to the many tools the team has to offer this year.

The boys team looks forward to doing great things this year. Stay strong, stay healthy and bring home a district championship.
