This week before the football game there are two big events. They are the pep rally and the family picnic.

The pep rally is where the whole school gets together in an all-school assembly. During the assembly, the football players get announced one by one and Coach Timmons gives a speech.

The cheerleaders also come up with a cheer for the pep rally and perform it in front of everyone. There is also games that played during this for Thunder Cup points. Each grade stands up as one and whichever grade makes the most noise according the judges wins.This is a great way to get the school pumped for the game and show their school spirit.

The family picnic is where Out-of-Door families and alumni gather at school before the game and have a picnic. Every ODA  family from every grade level along with alumni are invited for a free dinner on the football field.

To get your free dinner you must pick up a ticket at the registration table in front of the field. Once you get your ticket, you go to the food section where Lee Roy Selmons is serving Pulled Pork, Smoked BBQ Chicken, Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Rolls and water bottles for the adult menu. For the Lee Roy Selmons kids menu they are selling Chicken Fingers with Ranch dipping cause, fresh Strawberries, fresh baby carrots and water bottles.

If you’re a vegetarian, then Guerrilla Chef will also be there selling Black Bean Burgers with Mango Salsa, Southwester Quinoa and a Creamy Cucumber Salad. There is much more to do at this picnic besides eating. There will be all sorts of fun activities such as a bounce house, face painting and much more.

If your a new family, join the Admissions team at 5:00 P.M. for a new family group gathering at the picnic. And for Alumni come out and support the football team. There is also a designated spot for only Alumni where they can eat and and watch the game close up.

Please everyone come out and support your team while they take on the South West Florida Christian Academy! All ODA students and Alumni are free, adults are 5$ and students from other schools are 3$. Kickoff is at 7:00 P.M., if your unable to show the game is being broadcasted online by Playonsports.
