The Source is an educational-based touring theater program in Sarasota, Florida. The theater was founded over 30 years ago by Planned Parenthood of central and southwest Florida to help display issues in our society through screenplays. They aim to influence teenagers by making them aware of their surrounding through high school volunteers that become “a source” of information to their peers.

Their motto is “real life real theater” says Junior Cammy Harris. “We do plays that tour the county, state, or nation to raise awareness for important issues affecting teenagers.”

Although this is the first year Cammy has been involved with The Source, she looks forward to making an impact on her peers and other teenagers in the area.

Harris states, “I really hope to participate in the plays and PSA’s to help raise awareness, meet some cool new people, and learn more about acting.”

The Source is looking for new students in the community willing to make an impact on the issues teenagers face. They will be visiting campus in the next couple of weeks in search of leaders.
