Girl Talk and Global Citizens Club Host Dress Down Day Fundraiser!
December 3, 2020
On December 4th, Girl Talk and The Global Citizens Club are co-sponsoring a dress down day fundraiser!
They are partnered with Far Away Friends, a non-profit organization dedicated to “equipping kids in the heart of Uganda with the tools to transform their communities and break cycles of poverty forever.” Far Away Friends established the Global Leaders Primary School in Namasale, Uganda, as part of its effort to foster access to outstanding primary education, support services, and community resources for children in rural areas.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, schools were ordered to shut down in Uganda. In order for all grade levels at GLP to return, the school must be provided with the tools that will allow them to meet designated safety requirements. Far Away Friends initiated the “Raise to Reopen” fundraising campaign to raise money for improvements in sanitation and hygiene. This includes socially distanced desks, new dorm beds, hand-washing stations, and new, drainable pit-latrine toilets for students.
Please bring a $5 payment to morning check-in to participate in this dress down day. If you would like to make an extra donation, click here. All donations to The ODA Global Citizens Club’s Kindful fundraising page will be directed to Far Away Friends.
